In Patna, two headmasters and a middleman were arrested on Saturday for their involvement in recruiting fake teachers in Samastipur. The arrests were made after a four-member committee, appointed by Samastipur DM Yogendra Singh, conducted an investigation. The arrested individuals are Dilip Ram from Purushottampur Primary School, Avinash Kumar Tandon from Navtolia Primary School, and middleman Parvez Alam. They were apprehended in the Town police station area. A significant fraud was reportedly carried out at Navtolia Primary School, as per a police source. Subsequent to the discovery of the fraudulent recruitment, numerous teachers are under scrutiny, with 12 said to be evading authorities. According to the police, the fake appointments were made by substituting selected BPSC candidates with manipulated candidates during the counseling process. The DM stated, "Complaints were received about fraudulent appointments in the BPSC TRE-2.0. Following the release of the list of successful candidates and their documentation verification, the biometric thumbprints of the candidates were taken. However, individuals from the education department illicitly appointed fake teachers using the roll numbers and candidate IDs of selected BPSC teacher candidates who had not commenced service." The DM confirmed the establishment of a four-member committee on September 7 to investigate the issue. Based on the committee's findings, the headmasters and middleman were arrested. A person named Ranjana Kumari at Purushottam Primary School was identified as a fake teacher, and the appointments of teachers Nikhat Parveen and Tanuja Kumari in the same school are presently being probed. The initial fraud in appointments was uncovered at this school, according to an official from the Town police station.
